Speedcubing - the activity of solving a Rubik's Cube or related puzzle as quickly as possible.
Speedsolving Puzzles, particularly the Rubik's Cube, is growing like wildfire and is an awesome hobby. But, I have to warn that it is highly addictive and time consuming. However, if you want to have something you can do whenever you're bored and want to pass the time, then cubing could be right for you. Cubing is alot of fun, if you enjoy it, and with practice you can get very very fast. Some people think it's the same thing over and over again, but it really isn't. You'll never do the same solve more than once. There are over 43 quintillion (That's 43 followed by 18 zero's!) possible configurations a 3x3 cube could be in. There are so many different ways to solve the cube, one-handed, blindfolded, underwater, least number of moves, etc. Dan Knights even jumped out of an airplane and solved it in freefall! There are also hundreds of different twisty puzzles just waiting for you to master! They now have cubes as big as a 7x7, as well as odd shaped puzzles. My point is just like anything else, you'd me amazed at what practice can do for you. Believe me, you can get faster then you probably thought possible, and that doesn't just mean solving the 3x3 Rubik's Cube. Maybe you could end up being the Megaminx World Champion, who knows... But you'll never find out if you dont try!
